10 Tricks To Make You A Happier Person

by Peggy M. Parks, AICI CIP, CPBS

Young Woman Bending Down and Smiling with Arms Stretched BackIn my experience, I find that people who are happy are the most civil. If you’re feeling worn down and cranky, you’re less receptive to others’ needs and aren’t up to bestowing kindness upon strangers. That’s why I wanted to share this helpful article from The Mind Unleashed: “Ten Things That Will Make You Happier, Backed By Science.”

Read through the list and see if you’ve accounted for these things in your life. Are you getting enough sleep? Do you make time for family and friends? Or, are you stuck at your desk all day, away from sunlight? Even something as minor as exercising for seven minutes a day can improve your mood, as can cutting down your commute to work.

The fact that each of these points is supported by scientific research gives the list more weight. I know there are areas that I can certainly improve on, such as spending more time outdoors and soaking up some Vitamin D. How about you? What can you do to boost your mood?
