A
series of seminars and workshops for employers and employees,
presented by The Parks Image Group
Facts to remember:
- Your wardrobe should be planned, not the result of impulsive
shopping
- Business meals are not about food
- The color of your clothes determines your power in the
workplace
- Customers matter; they don’t write your paycheck,
but your paycheck depends on how you treat them; no customers,
no job, no paycheck.
- Body language tells the stories you do not verbalize
Let’s get to work! |
The
Power of Color
A fun, interactive and engaging program in which you will
discover how the colors you wear every day affect others, and
how they can support your business agenda for every day of
the week, learn about our physiological reactions to color,
in particular the color of our clothes, and ensure that you
are eliciting the kinds of responses you want from the people
around you. |
Communication
Skills
In a class that includes role-playing, you will learn how
others perceive your voice, your gestures and your body language.
We’ll talk about telephone techniques, facial expressions,
gestures, walk and posture, nervousness, “baggage” ,
gossip, the cluttered office, personal space and territorial
behavior. Find out what unwelcome messages you may have sent
in the past, without even opening your mouth, and learn how
to communicate more effectively in the future. |
Personal
Color Analysis
The colors that are right for you are those that boost your
confidence in your business environment.
Color, according to psychologists who have studied this, is
the first thing one notices when meeting a person; its impact
is immediate and lasting. Color affects your mood, apparent
body shape, apparent age, your outlook on life and the overall
impression you make on others. When you wear your best range
of colors, you will look energetic, vibrant, younger, healthier;
by contrast, unflattering colors can make you look ill, exhausted,
dull or older.
Once you are aware of your personal color “bests”,
shopping will be simpler and you will stop making costly wardrobe
mistakes. Your confidence level will soar; you will be in control
of your image and use color to express who you really are.
The process starts with our personal color analysis. |
Planning
Your Wardrobe
Your career is based on a plan and in your workplace plans
are everywhere. Your wardrobe needs a plan also.
“Capsule dressing” is the heart of your
wardrobe plan: putting together a group of clothes that mix
and match and can be bought together to save time and money.
For best results, capsules begin with one or two anchor jackets
that can be worn with matching skirts or trousers to form suits,
or can be combined with many other pieces in your closet to
create a variety of outfits. The key word in wardrobe planning
is “versatility”.
Once you have your capsule in place, it is easy to add or
replace pieces. A new addition should match at least three
or four garments already in your closet, thus reducing the
cost-per-wear of each piece. Managing your wardrobe with capsules
will simplify the start of your day, every day, and make future
shopping a breeze. |
Social
Graces
Think about these everyday occurrences in the workplace: a
casually phrased e-mail, an ignored telephone call, a “dead
fish” handshake, a “thank you” that was forgotten.
Do you know anyone who is prone to monopolize a meeting, or
habitually interrupts a speaker? These are the sorts of missteps
that can halt one’s rise to the top or squelch a business
deal. Everything we do is a form of communication and leaves
a positive or negative impression.
Learn the essentials of making introductions, how to start,
sustain and end a conversation, how to “mix and mingle” in
a large gathering, and how to recover from a mistake. |
Business
Meals ...
... are not about eating! During this entertaining and informative
workshop, you will learn that sharing a meal with a client
is about establishing and maintaining rapport. Learn how to
remember people’s names, what’s expected of you
as host or hostess, napkin etiquette, the difference between
American and Continental dining styles, how to order wine,
paying the bill, tipping, and much more. In the process, you
will become an efficient and admired networker. |
Customer
Care
It starts with attitude – your attitude!
With the goal of achieving your comfort and ease in delivering
exceptional and memorable customer service, in this class we
will examine common courtesy, mindfulness, civility and the
unintentional negative impact voice and body language can have
on even the best manners. Learn how to have the right attitude,
understand your customers’ and colleagues’ needs,
skillfully deal with angry and difficult customers, and transform
surliness into smiles. |
International
Etiquette
Globalization is here to stay.
Sooner or later we will have colleagues, friends and neighbors
whose languages, religions, traditions and customs introduce
us to different cultures. Your next job may be in Buenos Aires,
Shanghai or Amsterdam. Or, in your new position, your team
could include a South Korean, an Indian and a Kenyan. Preparation
for optimal performance is the key!
In this fun, educational workshop you will learn:
- Tips for doing business in other countries
- International travel tips
- Major faux pas to avoid: gestures, language, business practices
- Social etiquette abroad: how to greet and address people
- Gift-giving practices, dressing for the occasion, what
colors to wear – or not
